Susan West, senior consultant

Susan West is an accomplished writer, editor, and manager as well as an experienced editorial consultant who helps start up and renovate magazines and websites. She was the founding Editor in Chief of Afar, a new international travel magazine, Executive Editor of Smithsonian, and a co-founder of Hippocrates, now calledHealth, which won four National Magazine Awards while she was there. As a principal of West Gold Editorial consulting, she formulated the editorial blueprint for and helped to launch Dwell magazine. Other Web and print clients include Cooking Light, Reader’s Digest, AOL, Edutopia.org, Family Fun, Southern Accents, PC World, and Heifer International.
