Cathleen A. Bolton, financial modeling
Senior Consultant Cathy Bolton has more than 15 years of circulation experience with consumer and trade publications including progressive responsibilities in staff positions, off-site management and consulting. She has a solid understanding of circulation including strategic planning, marketing, analysis, fulfillment, training and management. Her comprehensive knowledge of all publishing areas supports her ability to model fully-loaded P&L's.
Among her recent projects, Cathy formulated financial projections for a national magazine launch; developed report packages to ensure accurate modeling statistics, and utilized data mining software to extract database information from fulfillment. Her clients have included Time, Inc. (Real Simple and Time4 Media),Newsweek International, National Geographic and New York Review of Books.
As a former Circulation Director, Cathy has managed all paid circulation activities for multiple publications (different owners) with a combined database of 300,000-plus, developed and implemented long and short-term strategies for subscription acquisition/retention, newsstand distribution, rate-base management, budgeting and P&L assessment. This has included using direct mail, non-traditional sources and publishing models.
